Belonging
Social isolation and marginalisation are common for many LGBTQ+ young people. This has a direct impact on mental health. Isolation is exacerbated by the stigmatisation of LGBTQ+ identities and experiences. Support that fosters a sense of belonging through active community building and group work is vital to addressing social isolation and validating LGBTQ+ identity.
