What should I know?

According to the United Nations, as a young person you have a right to evolving capacities and the right to be heard. This means that you should be supported in the ways you mature and become more independent over time. You should be supported to develop skills around making decisions about yourself and your life, and you should feel listened to.

What might help me?

  1. Being given options and the time to decide for yourself
  2. Being respected and taken seriously
  3. Being given opportunities to develop your skills and confidence
